Cryolipolysis removes fat without surgery
Cryolipolysis is a system that destroys fat cells (adipocytes) by lowering their temperature. Fat has a special behavior when cooling. We all have experience that the oil becomes solid by putting it in the fridge.
This technique will revolutionize the treatment of localized fat in the face and body as it is the first time that fat is eliminated in a non-surgical way. Although the amount of fat that is removed is not much, you can repeat the technique. In very thin patients with localized fat and realistic expectations, very satisfactory results are obtained.
It is a slow treatment, lasting approximately 50 minutes, not suitable for obese people but for people who have localized fat. The ideal candidate is a thin person, but with localized fat deposits, which are complicated to eliminate with diet or exercise. The treatment is painless as there are no needles or subsequent inflammatory reaction.
The science in which the procedure is based was developed by renowned Harvard dermatologists at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. This research demonstrated that fat cells are, by nature, more vulnerable to the cooling effect than other adjacent tissues, and therefore can be removed by cold without damaging the skin.
During the technique, an applicator administers precise and controlled cooling to reach and eliminate the fat cells in specific areas of his body, without damaging the adjacent tissues. When fat cells are exposed to cold, the process of natural death (apoptosis) begins. The fat cells of the treated area are gradually eliminated through the normal metabolic process of the body. The result is a remarkable and natural reduction of fat adiposities, which is visible in a period of 2 to 4 weeks.
We have been using Cryolipolysis for months and we already have results.
What has impressed us most about technique is that it is absolutely painless. The skin after the treatment is cold and "parchment-like" for about 30 minutes. Sometimes we have seen a small hematoma, which disappears in 1 or 2 days.
The results are appreciable in the first week. It is said that after 2 months, 7 mm of fat thickness is reduced, equivalent to the removal of 20% of the treated fat.
The technique is very safe and comfortable for the patient.
Patient satisfaction so far is very high. But it is essential to inform the patient well before treatment: this is not a solution for obesity, but for localized fat.
But what about fat that is eliminated? Does it go to the blood or the liver? A study has been published recently in the prestigious scientific journal "Lasers in Surgery and Medicine" where they analysed the lipid levels (cholesterol, triglycerides, etc.) in blood and the liver function of 44 patients who underwent cryolipolysis to improve the handles of the waist ("love handles").
These tests were performed 1 day before the technique, 1 day after, and
1 week, 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks thereafter. The study shows that
there is no variation in blood lipid levels or liver function. Therefore, it can
be ensured that Cryolipolysis is a technique not only effective but also
safe to eliminate fat without surgery through the cold.
We have been carrying out the technique months and the satisfaction
level of our patients is very high, making it clear at all times that it is not
a treatment of obesity. The only side effects we have seen have been
some bruising and "tingling" in the area on subsequent days.
